October 2023: Ox Ridge Riding continues to show impressive results far and near at many different venues and levels. Highlights this month include Shea Ehrhard & Fifth Avenue qualifying for the NEHC and THIS Medals and Hayley Hewitt for USHJA Hunt Seat and Hamel Medals. Shea finished 7th in Open Equitation Younger Adults at NHS, Top 24 for the THIS Adult Medal, and 11th overall NEHC Adult Medal. Hayley and Winndor finished 8th in Open Equitation Juniors at NHS in Kentucky.
At Old Salem Farm last weekend, we had great results with Erin Brannan and Soleil taking Champion in the Low Adult Amateur Hunters, Morgan Powell and Apollo Champion in the Children's Hunters and First in the Classic, Kelly Mapes and For Real Reserve Champion in the Children's Hunter Pony, Bettina Reynerson and Chamado 1st and 3rd over fences in the Low Adult Amateur Hunter and Emma Coristine and Inquisitive 3rd in the Children's Classic.

Pegasus returns to Ox Ridge
On Monday, October 2nd Pegasus launched the new, 5-week Therapeutic Horsemanship Pilot program at Ox Ridge. Our horses and volunteers have been in training for weeks and look forward to a successful relaunch of Pegasus at Ox Ridge, which originally began at our barns in 1975.

Ox Ridge honored at Pegasus gala benefit
On Saturday, September 30th the Ox Ridge Charitable Foundation was a sponsor of the 3rd annual Pegasus Gala in Brewster, NY. A group of Ox Ridge riders and parents who are volunteering for the newly relaunched Therapeutic Riding program at Ox Ridge enjoyed an evening of great music, line dancing and raising funds for this great cause. Pegasus also graciously inducted our club into the esteemed 'Winners Circle' of recognition for playing a pivotal role in advancing the Pegasus mission of enhancing lives through equine assisted service.
Riders achieve high honors at 2023 Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida
Congratulations to our Ox Ridge riders who competed in the 13-week-long Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Fla., which ended in early April. Several young riders achieved high honors across all divisions. Of special note: Reserve Champions were Isabelle Castellanos and Old School, and Eva Mackenzie and Iladin Du Rouet.

Ox Ridge Riders shine at Fall 2022 shows
Congratulations to all the Ox Ridge riders who qualified to compete at prestigious year-end indoor competitions. We had more than 15 horses at Capital Challenge in Maryland in early October, and riders Carolyn Carpenter, Isabelle Castellanos, Haley Hewitt, Eva Mackenzie and Chrysopylae (Cali) Locke Youngman all vied for top awards at multiple venues. At the Pennyslvania National show in Harrisburg, also in October, Cali and her pony Captain America, pictured right, placed 6th in the $10,000 pony winners stakes class against the top ponies at the competition.
At the Old Salem Show in New York in October, 2022, Jamie Edwards, pictured right, won the adult/child jumper championship.

October 2022: Ox Ridge Riding had a busy and successful summer show circuit, including shows in Saratoga Springs, Traverse City, Princeton, Saugerties, Southampton and Lexington, Kentucky. Congratulations to all riders and Head trainer Chance Arakelian and Assistant trainers Katie Uloth and Maggie Boylan. We are especially grateful to our grooms for all their hard work outside of the ring taking care of our horses. We wish our riders good luck this month as they compete at ‘Indoors’ shows in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Kentucky.
