Whether you are boarding your own horse at Ox Ridge or enjoying one of the club-owned horses, you can become part of the team where you will receive private or group instruction in hunter, jumper and equitation. Our instructors are a group of talented professionals who have expertise in each of the riding disciplines and command the highest standards of horsemanship. The staff takes pride in their commitment to horse care, education, and a strong belief in teamwork.

Lessons are available on a daily basis throughout the year (with the exception of Mondays) by the Club's instructional staff beginning at 8:30 a.m. The program is designed to take the riders from introductory levels through advanced equitation. Instruction is highlighted by a number of activities including USEF recognized shows at Ox Ridge and away, clinics and horsemanship sessions.

A focus on discipline, responsibility and personal growth are all the essential ingredients we apply to enthusiasts. We encourage our riders to seek the highest level of horsemanship and sportsmanship and strive to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Many of our members focus on showing and competing at horse shows both locally and nationally. With this in mind, the trainers concentrate on each rider's individual goals and skill level in the hope of ultimately producing an effective rider and showman. Ox Ridge is active in the showing circuit and competes annually in Wellington, FL during the winter months. In addition to Wellington, we compete at various shows throughout the year including Vermont Summer Festival, Lake Placid Horse Show, The Devon Horse Show, and H.I.T.S. at Saugerties.

No matter what level of rider you are or aspire to be, Ox Ridge can guide you on your path to reaching your goals. The Hunt Club offers a comprehensive lesson program run by trainers who possess a wealth of experience. Everyday, in every way, our goal is to make horseback riding exciting, challenging and fun. At Ox Ridge we strive to develop riders of all ages into knowledgeable and successful horsemen and horsewomen. For our junior riders we also offer weekly horsemanship clinics. The clinics focus on the fundamentals of riding and general horse care. Each student plays an active role in learning to care for the horses through demonstrations and hands-on experience.
